LG has been quietly announcing a few new devices at MWC 2014. Apart from the much talked about (and leaked) G Pro 2, the surprise announcement of LG G2 Minis in multiple versions and the mid-range L Series III phones, LG also had another ace up their sleeve with the announcement of their F70.

The LG F70 is an entry-level device that has LTE and it looks to be a decent device for all that it comes with. The F70 runs Android KitKat OS, is powered by a quad-core processor. The Premium UX includes the Knock Code feature that made its debut on LG G2 as KnockON. It is an interesting addition whereby, when the screen is blank, a preset sequence of tapping will unlock and activate the phone.

The F70 has a decent build with a thin bezel and what looks like a textured back. Other than that, it’s a plain device that’s not going to turn heads with its looks. The home screen is also something called Easy Home which has been designed to present a simplified home screen while increasing the size of the icons. The reason for this is that LG wants to make transition easier for first time smartphone users.

Key Specifications:

  • 1.2 GHz quad-core, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU.
  • 4.5”, 400 x 800 WVGA IPS screen with a 207 ppi.
  • 1 GB RAM, 4 GB built in memory and accepts microSD card of up to 64 GB.
  • Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and NFC supported but no detailed information on those.
  • Has GPRS, EDGE, HSPA as well as the highlighted 4G LTE.
  • 5 MP auto-focusing rear camera and VGA camera at the front.
  • 2440 mAh, removable, Li-Ion battery.
  • Has a dimension of 127.2 x 66.4 x 10.0 mm
  • Comes in Black and White.

Pricing and availability of LG F70 for Malaysia market is yet to be confirmed.
