Asus didn’t make a splash at MWC 2014 this time and only announced 2 new additions to the Fonepad line. Apart from that, they also showcased their ZenUI and their lineup of ZenFone and PadFones, that were announced earlier this year and at the end of last year respectively.
The 2 new additions to their affordable Fonepad line was the Fonepad 7 LTE (ME372CL) and the new Fonepad 7 (ME175CG). The LTE version is a timely update as newer and less expensive smartphones are coming in with LTE chips. Both devices have HD IPS screens but the LTE version has Dual front speakers and SonicMaster audio. The LTE version also has a 1.6 GHz dual core Intel Atom Z2560 processor whereas the 3G version (ME175CG) comes with a much lower 1.2 dual core Intel Atom Z2520 processor.

Apart from the Fonepad line, Asus also introduced their custom UI that will come loaded on their newer devices. It’s called ZenUI and it is available on the ZenFone series as well as the PadFone mini. There are a few themes to try out and the clean lines and flat icons will find new fans. The ZenUI also includes two features that is, What’s Next and Do It Later.
What’s Next

What’s Next will act as a personal assistant with reminders of appointments — including cancellations and time changes, new messages, missed calls from important contacts, weather information at your destination, birthdays and anniversaries, and more in a timely manner. It does sound like Google Now but I’m not sure where the information is retrieved from.
Do It Later

Omelet Chat

PixelMaster

It is currently only available on ZenFone and PadFone mini and is claimed to increase light sensitivity by up to 400% and contrast up to 200% by merging adjacent pixels. I believe this is the kind of computational adjustment that the Snapseed does with its HDR SCAPE feature. PixelMaster also has a host of other camera features and settings to provide more options to the user.
