Lenovo has been quite busy at the 2014 MWC. On Sunday the 23rd, Lenovo launched a tablet and a new suite of premium apps for smartphones and tablets. No news on the Motorola acquisition though and we’re not exactly sure if Lenovo will make an appearance at Motorola’s event later today.
DOit apps
Click to view slideshow.Going back to the announcements, Lenovo got the ball rolling when they introduced their new suite of premium apps for smartphones and tablets. The suite is called DOit apps and it consists of 5 different Android apps:
- SHAREit : Allows you to share information instantly between multiple devices without network charges. This app is actually pretty interesting because it does not require an internet connection and is 40X faster than Bluetooth. It can also transfer up to 5 different devices at one time to other devices with the app. I believe it uses Wi-Fi direct and this app is available now on iOS as well as on Windows (not phone).
- SECUREit : App that speeds up your device by optimizing performance, blocks spam SMS, tracks data usage to keep you within your plan limits, protects your device from viruses and trojans, and locks device in case of theft.
- SYNCit : App to backup and restore contacts, SMS messages and call logs.
- SNAPit : Is a camera app with multiple shooting modes. Lenovo phones have always had really great camera apps and it would be interesting to see how this new app fares.
- SEEit : A photo gallery app that allows one-touch editing and efficient photo management.
Of those, SHAREit, SECUREit and SYNCit apps are available on Play Store so you can actually try them out right now, even on non-Lenovo devices.
